The Message and the Mission.

It's important to remind ourselves that with a little effort from every one of us, we can build our reality, our future from whom God Almighty has created for us.

North Bank Farmers Association is a non-profit charitable organization established in the Gambia to empower and support people from the grassroots level, towards these aims and objectives, by taking the initiative. We took challenges to help areas like education, health care, modern farming, fisheries, food sufficiency, and most importantly youth development and discouraging youth's migration to Europe through the dangerous journey.

The aims and objectives of this Association are to register all our members and train and educate them to acquire, the necessary knowledge with skills for their personal community development. Also, fosters discipline good behaviours, and respect for human dignity, to eradicate poverty and maintain peace and society balance.

NBFAG members in Kekuta Kunda Village work on their rice farm in the north bank region. This visit is based on finding and recognizing the problems facing our communities across the region. and building a bilateral relationship between the 2 organisations.

NBFAG  Orientation fact-finding mission in the region covers upper, Central, and Lower areas. This orientation is based on finding and recognising the problems facing our communities across the region.

During this tour, we had close contact with the community members especially women who had the upper hand in gardening, because this is part of earning money from their garden products to keep families moving. We listened to their needs such as effective water supplies and protections such as proper fencing and local water containers for easy water distribution in the gardens. The difficulty we are facing is some of these villages has no good fence some borehole water supplies is not enough for their gardens. Some of the villages travel by walking 3-4 miles to their gardens this is not easy. The help they need today is a good solar system to help and supply enough water and good  fencing materially will help and protect their corps and tractors

NBFAG  was formed in 2020 by various Gambians both Home and abroad to respond to the challenges local farmers are facing amid tough economic and environmental challenges as a direct result of various factors among which are climate change, global pandemic, lack of proper machinery and equipment, inputs, lack of cold storages facilities, direct access to market and good data to enable farmers to make good decisions regarding investment and funding.

NBFAG's objective is to represent all Gambian farmers regardless of whether they are direct members or not, and we intend to work with all stakeholders to provide necessary support to those who need it the most.

Especially local women's gardens located in rural Gambia. We are farmer to farmer support group and also encourage all our members to support each other at all times.

North Bank Farmers Association in the Gambia intend to work with all Gambian farmers and all stakeholders to address the following areas which we believe are the main challenges facing local Gambian farmers, especially in the rural areas of the country.

Helping local farmers get access to clean water by drilling boreholes and helping fund fencing the gardens in the villages.

Helping to provide good access to cold storage facilities in all regions of the country.

Helping farmers to create a fair and sustainable market to sell farmers produce across the country and also by helping local farmers export to other countries including the EU market.

Helping to train farmers members in different areas of farm management and record keeping agronomic support etc whilst working with all stakeholders in creating a good database for information sharing and knowledge expansion in agribusiness.

NBFAG HAS LAUNCHED TREE PLANTING EXERCISES THROUGHOUT THE REGION IN SUPPORT OF GOVERNMENT TO DISCOURAGED DEFORESTATION BY IMPLEMENTING WHAT HAS BEEN AGREED UPON AND ENDORSED BY WORLD LEADERS AT GLASGOW CLIMATE SUMMIT. NORTH BANK FARMERS ASSOCIATION IS LOOKING AT BOTH ANGLES FOR SUPPORT EITHER CASH OR KIND FROM INDIVIDUALS, PHILONTROPHIES, N.G.O'S ORGANISATIONS, COMPANIES, ESPECIALLY FARMERS COMPANIES BOTH NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL FOR CLIMATE SMART FARMING TECHNICS IN THE GAMBIA WEST AFRICA..

NBFAG HAS PROVIDED VEGETABLE SEEDS TO ITS MEMBERS ACROSS  THE REGION AND BEYOND, FOR BETTER PREPARATION FOR THIS COMING VEGETABLE GARDENING SEASON.

NBFAG  CONTINUED TO LOOK FOR RICE MILLING MACHINES WITHIN THE REGION TO REDUCE WORK LABOUR ON OUR WOMEN IN THE REGION, AND EVEN RURAL URBAN MIGRATION AND EVEN MIGRATION TO EUROPE THROUGH DANGEROUS JOURNEY. 

THESE WILL HELP AND CREATE JOBS FOR OTHER PEOPLE IN THE REGION.

NORTH BANK FARMERS ASSOCIATION PROVIDED 368 BAGS OF FERTILISER  IN ALL THE CLUSTER COMMUNITIES. THE INAUGURATION AND STRATEGIC PLANNING MEETING WAS HELD ON WEDNESDAY 22ND SEPTEMBER 2021 AT ILLIASSA COMMUNITY HALL.

1500 MEMBERS ID CARDSHAS HAS  BEEN PROVIDED FOR NEW MEMBERS, AND 1000 T SHIRTS ARE BEING PROVIDED FOR OUR MEMBERS.

ASSOCIATION BANK ACCOUNTS HAS BEEN OPENED IN POSSIBLE GAMBIA AND.

11 COMMUNITIES BANK ACCOUNTS EQUIPMENT GARDENING COMMUNITY HAS BEEN OPENED FOR EACH COMMUNITY AT RELIANCE FINANCE SERVICE IN FARAFENNI TWON.     

INCOMING PROJECTS/PROGRAMME 

TO PROVIDE DIFFERENT VARIETIES VEGETABLE SEEDS FOR OUR CLUSTER COMMUNITIES AS SOON AS UNITED KINGDOM FOR THIS COMING THE  SEASON COMMENCING NEXT MONTH NOVEMBER 15TH.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SUPPORT AND PARTICIPATION WITH THE GOVERNMENTS, AND POSSIBLENGOS NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL FOR MODERN FARMING GARDENING.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL FRUITS AND VEGETABLE BUYERS TO SIGN CONTRACT WITH US.

SENSITIZATION PROGRAMME FOR INCOMING NEW MEMBERS WITHIN THE COUNTRY AND BEYOND. 

TO ALLOCATE 1000 SQUARE METRES PIECE OF LAND FOR OUR FRUITS AND VEGETABLE MARKET IN THE NORTH BANK REGION FOR OUR RURAL FARMERS.
