At Northbank Farm Association Farm, we believe in sustainable farming practices,  In 2025, the NBFA Rice Farm in No Kunda recorded a very strong performance. The season was successful, with good progress in farm activities and positive results for our members. This achievement reflects the commitment of the farmers, the support from NBFA leadership, and the teamwork of everyone involved.

 In 2025, NBFA successfully conducted a Farmers Tour covering all communities in the North Bank Region (NBR). The tour was very fruitful and was organized in collaboration with Eco-Soil and Rokosan, strengthening farmer knowledge and improving farming practices across the region.

 In 2025, the NBFA Secretary General participated in a modern farming training programme in China. The training strengthened NBFA’s knowledge in improved production methods, farm management, and new agricultural technologies, which will benefit our members.

 The NBFA 2025 Farmers Tour at Marong Kunda Village Rice Farm was a successful learning visit, supported through collaboration with partners such as Eco-Soil and Rokosan, focusing on improved inputs, soil health, and better production methods.

 In 2025, NBFA conducted a training on organic manure production and the use of local fertilizers in Njaba Kunda Village. The training helped farmers learn practical methods for making and applying organic manure to improve soil fertility, reduce costs, and increase crop productivity.

NBFA Delegation Visit to ADWAC – Receipt of Farmers’ Equipment (Donation)

North Bank Farmers Association (NBFA) extends its sincere appreciation to ADWAC for the generous donation of farmers’ equipment received by our delegation for the benefit of our members in the North Bank Region (NBR), The Gambia.

We wish to convey our special thanks to:

NBFA HAS LAUNCHED TREE-PLANTING EXERCISES ACROSS THE REGION

The North Bank Farmers Association (NBFA) has launched tree-planting exercises throughout the region in support of the Government’s efforts to discourage deforestation. This initiative is part of NBFA’s commitment to implement the agreements and actions endorsed by world leaders at the Glasgow Climate Summit (COP26).


NBFA is seeking support from individuals, philanthropies, NGOs, organizations, and companies—especially agricultural and farming companies, both national and international. Support may be provided in cash or in kind, to strengthen climate-smart farming techniques in The Gambia, West Africa.

Fundraising Appeal – Borehole Drilling Machine

North Bank Farmers Association (NBFA) is launching a fundraising campaign to purchase a borehole drilling machine, with each machine costing £14,000.

This investment will help the Association to provide more boreholes across the North Bank Region, improving access to clean drinking water and supporting better gardening and farming all year round.

We kindly appeal to all well-wishers, individuals, philanthropists, NGOs, organisations, and companies—both national and international—to support this important initiative.

This fundraising initiative is intended to help NBFA raise funds for our incoming projects and to strengthen our activities in support of farmers across the North Bank Region.

Programme Update – Seeds Distribution & Rice Milling Initiative
Date: 22 October 2021

North Bank Farmers Association (NBFA) wishes to inform all members, partners, and stakeholders that the Association has provided vegetable seeds to its members across the region and beyond, to ensure better preparation for the upcoming vegetable gardening season.

In addition, NBFA has continued to search for rice milling machines within the region in order to:

  • Reduce heavy labour on women in our communities
     
  • Support rural development and improve livelihoods
     
  • Help reduce rural–urban migration and unsafe migration routes, including dangerous journeys to Europe
     
  • Create jobs and opportunities for more people across the North Bank Region
     

These efforts are part of NBFA’s commitment to strengthening agriculture, improving productivity, and supporting sustainable development in our communities.
